Pink Sky

Pink light floods the entire picture plane in Pink Sky, a Nicholas Roerich composition where the heavens themselves, not any figure or shrine, carry the subject. Rose deepens toward apricot just above the horizon, then cools into violet overhead. The white heights sit small and far below, their ridgelines set down in single unhurried strokes. Tempera leaves the surface matte and chalky, each band of color resting flat and still. A study with morning light, a quiet hallway, or a reading nook in muted grays would let those pinks breathe without a competing hue nearby.
