Peterhof

Gilded fountain sculpture towers over a long canal at Peterhof, the park estate Pyotr Konchalovsky painted in quick, sunlit strokes of green and gold. Water jets catch the light in flecks of white and cobalt, while clipped lime avenues recede toward a pale yellow palace facade. The brushwork stays loose and physical, thick in the foliage, thinner where the channel flattens into a bright ribbon.
