Pavlovsk. Novosilviysky Bridge

An arched iron bridge crosses the frame at a low diagonal, its slender trusses reflected in the dark water below. This is Pavlovsk. Novosilviysky bridge, seen through the disciplined eye of Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva. Trees line the far bank in soft, layered masses, drawn with the crisp hatching of her woodcut hand. The water carries broken vertical reflections, pale against deep ink black, while the sky stays open and unworked above the span. Every line does structural work, nothing decorative, nothing vague.
