Pavasaris

Bare birches and swelling buds hold the first warmth of Pavasaris, Vilhelms Purvitis spring landscape. Snow lingers in the hollows while open ground darkens between the trunks. The Latvian master builds the scene in cool violets and greys, then lets a pale sun break across the meltwater.
