Path along the Shore

A sandy track bends through dune grass and runs straight for the water. Guy Rose painted it in loose, sun-washed strokes, the kind of coastal scene California Impressionism did best. Pale violet shadow cools the sand while the path itself stays warm, ochre over cream, leading the eye to a thin band of glittering sea. Low scrub and scattered rocks break the foreground, and the sky above sits open and hazy, more pearl than blue. It suits a sunroom or a hallway that faces the light.
