Sunlight drops through a stand of summer trees, breaking into flecks of yellow along a curving gravel path. Parkrészlet, by Hungarian modernist Scheiber Hugó, isolates exactly this: a green pocket between trunks. Oil paint sits thick and quick on the surface. Sap green and chrome yellow jostle in the canopy, violet shadow cools the walk below, and one trunk rises in warm sienna, bark suggested by a few loaded strokes. A sliver of cobalt sky flickers at the upper edge. Give it a sunroom, a hallway bench, or a reading nook with a good chair and a stack of books.
