Paisaje Con Río

River water spreads wide and quiet across the middle of Paisaje Con Río, a Spanish landscape by José Garnelo where the current carries the whole composition toward a hazy far bank. Oil pigment sits in long horizontal strokes along the water, each reflection smeared while the banks stay crisp. Willows lean over the near shore, foliage loaded with olive and sap green, and dull gold catches the sun along the upper leaves while the sky holds a pale, milky light. It settles naturally into a study or hallway hung with muted tones, somewhere the greens of the riverbank can breathe against plain plaster or linen walls.
