Outbuilding in the Garden

A squat timber shed settles into its corner of rampant summer growth in Outbuilding in the garden, Pyotr Konchalovsky treating this humble structure with the gravity of a formal portrait. Russet boards weather to a dusty rose where sun strikes them, and the mossy roof pitch bows under years of rain. Thick impasto ridges of sap green and ochre build the surrounding foliage, branches crosshatching cool shade across the small front door. In a sunroom, kitchen, or plant-filled study, all that leafy abundance sits easily beside linen, aged wood, and clay pots on a bright sill.
