Ornament

Stylized vine scrolls and blossom rosettes fill the sheet edge to edge in this Ornament by Vasyl Hryhorovych Krychevsky, a design rooted in Ukrainian folk pattern. Terracotta and ochre curl against a cream ground, outlined in deep green where the stems cross. The repeat balances symmetry with small surprises: a bud turns one way, its neighbor the other, and the linework thickens at every joint like carved wood. Set in a hallway or beside a reading chair, the pattern rewards a slow look; the eye keeps finding new turns in each scroll.
