Numbers in Love

Numerals tumble across the sheet, pairing off like dancers. Balla turns arithmetic into flirtation, each digit leaning toward the next with drawn-out curves and lifted tips. The numerals themselves carry the color: warm reds and soft pinks bloom along the loops of an 8, a blue 3 sweeps upward with the energy of a bird taking flight. Fine linework traces the rhythm between figures, echoing the futurist obsession with movement found in his automobile and speed studies. Light pencil shading grounds each character, giving the digits weight and shadow on the pale paper.
