Noite

Moonlight floods a winter night in Noite, a nocturne by Norwegian painter Harald Sohlberg where snow lies pale and unbroken beneath a sky washed in deep Prussian blue. Cold starlight pools on rooftops and frozen ground, every edge softened by frost. The palette runs from near black at the horizon to silver white where the moon catches the drifts, built up in smooth, luminous oil layers with almost no visible brushwork. A study or dim hallway suits its hush; the glow reads strongest against charcoal or deep slate walls.
