Niitakayama

A mountain shoulder rises through haze, the summit of Niitakayama catching early light while lower slopes sit in cold indigo shade. Fujishima Takeji builds the scene in layered washes, distant ridgelines dissolving into pale sky, nearer pines rendered as dark vertical strokes. Mist holds between valleys. The palette runs deep blue green to ash white, with one warm note where sun strikes rock. Suited to a study or reading room where a quiet horizon rewards long looking.
