Steam lifts off the sulfur slopes of Mt. Námafjall in N.-Iceland, a landscape Asgrimur Jonsson grounds in ochre, rust, and the pale drift of geothermal vapor. Lemon-yellow streaks bleed down the mountainside, cutting through umber scree and dark grey ash. Fumaroles breathe thin white columns into a wide, cool sky while the foreground sits flat and heavy, brushed loose, almost dry. A faint track bends toward the vents.
