Mountain Luton

A high summit opens across the sheet, its ridgeline pressed in cool cerulean and violet wash. Mountain Luton carries the wide, hushed geometry that Nicholas Roerich brought to every range he studied. Snow holds along the upper slopes in thick, unblended strokes of white. Below, the foothills step down in bands of cobalt, then grey-violet, then a pale ochre foothill haze. The sky reads almost flat, a single pane of blue behind the peak, so the silhouette does all the speaking. Brushwork stays broad and unhurried throughout. Made for a study, a hallway of tall windows, or a reading room that faces north light.
