Moulin de Coty, Cahors

A stone mill towers over the Lot at Cahors, its round tower squat against a bright southern sky. Richard Jack records the Moulin de Coty in confident, sun-washed strokes. Trees crowd the near bank, and their shadows break across the current in quick dark notes. The water carries olive and slate, streaked with reflected light, while rooftops behind the mill glow ochre and burnt rose. Brushwork stays loose and immediate, the kind made on site in a single sitting. A study, a hallway, or a reading nook gains a window onto the Quercy countryside.
