Moritzburg Castle

Four round towers rise from still water at Moritzburg Castle, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky drawing the Saxon hunting lodge as a dream half remembered, red roofs doubled in the mirror below. A chapel tower with an open lantern crowns the ensemble, its conical caps dark against pale masonry. Fine pen lines trace balustrades and windows while diluted grey green wash pools in the trees, the reflection shivering into crosshatched ripples. Muted sepia warms the stonework near the waterline. At home in a reading room, a study of maps and travel books, or an entryway where grey northern light suits architectural reverie.
