Mist Over Point Lobos

Fog slides across the rocks at Point Lobos in this coastal scene by Guy Rose. The headland dissolves into pale air while dark cypress silhouettes anchor the foreground. Rose builds the scene in oil with soft, layered brushwork: grey-lavender fog thickens over the cove, kelp-brown water laps at granite outcrops, and a thin band of light breaks along the horizon.
