Mist in the Forest

Fog gathers between the tree line, and Nicholas Roerich lets it do the talking in Mist in the forest. Trunks dissolve upward into pale grey air while the forest floor keeps its deep greens and umbers. Look closely and the brushwork tells the story: short, confident strokes build each trunk, then loosen where vapour swallows the canopy. Cool silver light filters sideways through the haze, pooling on moss and fallen timber. Every edge softens as the eye climbs, until wood and weather become one tone. A quiet corner benefits most from its hush, a study or reading nook where the fog seems to cool the whole wall.
