Mill near the forest creek

A wooden mill stands where the forest gives way to water, its wheel turning above a creek threaded through stone. Konstantin Bogaevsky builds the scene around that meeting of timber and current. Grey-green water slides over rounded rocks in the foreground, catching light in narrow ribbons. Dense trees crowd the banks in layered greens and deep umber, their canopy closing overhead so the mill reads as a pale shape against shadow. Brushwork stays loose in the foliage, firmer along the wheel and the crumbling masonry of the millrace. A quiet corner of a study or a reading nook suits it well, anywhere the eye wants somewhere still to rest.
