Medieval Revel

Torchlight catches feasters mid-song, cups raised, heads thrown back in loose laughter. Medieval Revel by Nicholas Roerich turns one rowdy night of carousing into a spectacle of deep reds and umber shadow. Figures crowd a vaulted hall in hooded cloaks and chain mail, a fiddler sawing at the center while a standard-bearer plants a crimson banner against grey stone. The paint sits in broad matte planes, faces reduced to glowing ovals beneath low rafters.
