Man with Red Chest

A figure stands frontally, torso divided into a block of saturated red. Man with Red Chest belongs to the Constructivist universe of Joaquin Torres Garcia, where the human body becomes a grid of ordered zones. Head simplified, features reduced to schematic marks. Around the figure, the composition locks into place: flat planes of ochre and black, ruled lines like architectural scaffolding, letters and numerals woven into the structure as sign rather than text. The red chest reads as both heart and keystone, the load bearing center of an abstract anatomy. Tempera like flatness, matte and chalky, keeps every color sealed within its boundary. Hang it in a study or hallway where geometric order can anchor a room.
