Cupped hands cradle a chin beneath an oval head, eyes sealed shut, lips a faint seam. Mademoiselle Pogany II by Constantin Brâncuși distills a woman into one smooth gesture. Polished bronze gives the face a molten gold sheen, every plane rounded like an egg rubbed smooth. Hair sweeps back into a tight coil at the nape while heavy lids shade those enormous almond eyes.
