Loch Coruisk and The Cuillins from Elgol

Jagged peaks of the Black Cuillin ridge split a pale sky above Loch Coruisk in this John Duncan view from the shore at Elgol. Slate blue washes sink toward indigo where the summits meet their reflections, and bruised violet shadow pools in the corries between gabbro shoulders. The loch reads as poured pewter, barely rippled, while low northern light drains the high ground of colour and bleaches the shingle at the water edge. A study or reading nook with plain plaster walls suits the cold Hebridean palette; the scene carries salt wind and mountain silence into the room.
