Lines Meeting

Power lines cross a grey sky in Lines Meeting by Pierre Dubreuil. Telegraph wires slice the frame into wedges of pale cloud, one dark bird pinned at their intersection. Dubreuil built the photograph around geometry: poles lean at opposing angles, cables curve and tighten, and the tonal range runs from smoky charcoal to bleached silver. Every diagonal pulls against another, so the eye keeps traveling along the wires instead of resting. A study, a hallway with exposed brick, or a desk corner in a loft all suit its industrial mood.
