Lifting Fog, Carmel

Thick sea mist lifts off the Carmel headland, revealing pale rock and one wind bent cypress at the waterline. Guy Rose builds the moment in soft layered brushwork, pearl grey over lavender, with a strip of cold blue ocean breaking through at the horizon. Foreground grasses stay in shadow while the upper sky warms to blush, the whole surface carried by small, confident strokes of oil. A quiet coastal study, a hallway, or a bedroom with linen and pale wood suits its hushed light.
