Le Pont Marie à Paris

The Pont Marie spans the Seine on weathered stone arches, barges drifting beneath its shoulders toward the Right Bank. Pierre-Jacques Pelletier fixes this Parisian crossing in oil, the bridge standing solid against a shifting river sky. Chimneys and pale facades climb the quays behind the arches. Muted greys and soft greens fill the water, broken by reflected light and the dark hull of a barge. Brushwork follows the current, loose along the surface, tighter where masonry meets the tide. A study, hallway, or reading nook gains a quiet Parisian anchor from this riverside view.
