Pencil lines rise into a facade. Charles Rennie Mackintosh drew this House for an art lover as pure intention: a long pale elevation, tall iron balconies, windows set like notes on a staff. Look at the drafting itself. Ruled ink sits over soft graphite shading, hatched in tight strokes along the walls to suggest stone.
