Landscape with Zigzag Path

A pale path zigzags uphill through rolling meadow, past black-contoured trees, toward rooftops set against the ridge. Jacoba van Heemskerck builds Landscape with Zigzag Path around that single climbing line. Black contour lines run like the leadlines of a stained glass window, holding pools of cobalt sky and emerald field inside firm edges. One red roof burns against the green, clouds stay flat and white, and the color glows from within the way glass does behind daylight. Stairwell, sunlit hallway, reading nook with a north window: anywhere the eye travels, that winding track keeps pulling it onward through the scene.
