Landscape with oaks and willows

Oaks and willows gather at the water edge, their crowns heavy and dark against a pale Crimean sky. Konstantin Bogaevsky builds the scene around this meeting of trees. Trunk bark rendered in layered ochre and olive, willow branches drooping in thin silvery strokes, the oaks standing broader and darker where ground shadow pools beneath them.
