Meadows fall toward a slow bend of the Oise, rooftops huddled on the far bank. Landscape of Seine et Oise is Gustave Loiseau at his most patient, brush moving like weather. Oil sits in his signature treillis, a lattice of short crosshatched strokes that lets color breathe between the threads. Silver-green water carries a pearl sky, ochre fields warm the middle distance, and every inch of surface shares the same woven touch.
