Green foothills climb toward a distant snowline in this Landscape by Nicholas Roerich. The terrain unfolds in broad, unhurried planes, the way steppe country looks at the end of a long day. Painted surface of cool cobalt sky against sage and umber slopes, edges softened so ridgelines read like breathing hillsides. A pale path threads upward, pulling the eye to that hard white crest.
