Terraced fields climb toward Rocca di Mezzo, the hill town of the Abruzzo high plain rendered by Edward Okuń in soft summer light. The village gathers on its ridge, stone on stone. Look closely and the handling tells the story: thin, dry brushwork over warm ground, olive greens broken against pale ochre, distant slopes dissolving into a bluish haze.
