Landscape

Trees gather along a riverbank, their dark canopies breaking a pale sky into slivers of light. Landscape by Michael Zeno Diemer holds that quiet moment before weather shifts. Diemer paints in layered greens and umber, each leaf mass built from short, loaded brushstrokes. Water carries reflections of the shore in long horizontal pulls of the brush, and distance dissolves into a soft atmospheric haze where hills barely hold their outline. The composition opens toward the viewer at the water edge, drawing the eye deep into the valley. A reading room or hallway with natural wood and linen tones gives this river scene its proper calm.
