Landscape in Csik (Transylvania)

A village road bends toward the Csik basin, houses crouched low under broad mountains. Istvan Nagy paints Transylvania from ground level, his brush pressed into the soil he knew. Greens go dark where trees cluster near rooftops; distant ridges fade into a pale, chalky blue sky. The paint sits thick in the foreground fields, dragged and reworked, while the horizon thins to almost nothing. Everything is built from earthen color, no sky-blue prettiness, just the honest weight of farmland and weather.
