Laguna Coast

Sunlight flattens the Pacific to a sheet of hammered silver along the Laguna shore. Guy Rose sets the horizon high, letting the cove dominate the composition from edge to edge. Pale cliffs drop toward the water in strokes of cream and rose violet, their faces broken by shadowed ledges. Low surf whitens against the rocks, and a strip of beach glows warm where it meets the sea. The brushwork stays loose and broken, the way California light behaves at midday.
