Krylatskoye. Mist

Mist pools across the low fields of Krylatskoye, swallowing the riverbank in grey. Pyotr Konchalovsky caught the old Moscow outskirts at that hour when everything softens and recedes. Broad strokes of sage and pewter sit over a darker ground, the oil laid thick in places, scrubbed thin elsewhere. Tree masses lose their edges in the pale haze, while a low strip of meadow keeps the only warm ochre light. A quiet study or bedroom suits this hushed tonality, where cool green and ash tones settle a room the way fog settles a field.
