Kovno. Gothic Façade

A Gothic façade rises over the rooftops of Kovno, its pointed arch and traceried window drawn in firm, architectural line. Nicholas Roerich records the cathedral front the way a traveler sketches from a shadowed square. The stonework sits in cool greys touched with blue, the masonry rendered block by block so each course reads clearly.
