Kotakoski

Snow load bends the birches at Kotakoski rapids, and open water steams black between white banks. Pekka Halonen names the painting after that stretch of Finnish river, then gives the winter itself the leading role. Halonen paints the current in deep blues and cold greens, dragging thick oil strokes so the water seems to shove against its ice shelves. Snow sits in slabs, not dustings. The birch trunks go down in single pale lines, their bare crowns tangled against a sky the color of old pewter. It belongs above a wooden sideboard or in a hallway that faces north, anywhere a room could use the clean cold hush of a Finnish winter afternoon.

Yes. It ships fully assembled in an oak or ash wood frame with shatterproof plexiglass glazing, and hanging hardware already fitted to the back.

Clean the glazing with a soft, lint-free cloth; apply any cleaner to the cloth, never directly to the piece.

As a guide, a piece hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of that furniture width. If you are between two sizes, the larger option almost always reads better on the wall than expected.
