Kangchenjunga. Mountain lakes

Kangchenjunga rises above still mountain lakes, and Nicholas Roerich gives the giant peak its due in bands of deep blue and cold white. Snow holds the light along the ridgeline while the water below mirrors it in flat, glassy planes. The composition stacks horizons with deliberate calm: glacier slopes in pale blue, dark foothills, then the polished surface of the lakes catching the same violet haze as the sky.
