Jungfrau

A mountain rises through cloud in Jungfrau, Felix Vallotton reducing the Swiss giant to a few decisive planes of white and slate. Snow fields read as unbroken slabs of pale blue. Shadow carves the rock face into angular facets. Below, dark foothills anchor the composition. Vallotton strips away atmospheric fuss, leaving geometry and altitude.
