Interior

A dim farmhouse room fills the frame, rendered by Janos Tornyai with the weight of lived-in things. Interior shows a Hungarian peasant home as the artist knew it from a lifetime among the Great Plain villages. Brown dominates. Earth-toned walls absorb light rather than reflect it, and a pale window offers the only bright opening in the composition.
