Sunlight scatters across a winding gravel path where two women stroll beneath mature oaks, parasols lifted against the bright afternoon, a fountain glinting far off at the turn toward the flowerbeds. Johann Walter painted the park as a place of leisure and quiet theater. Dappled greens dominate the canopy while dabs of rose and blue mark the dresses, the benches, the distant water.
