Dark torrent water forces through a channel of ice-sheathed rock, spray freezing mid-air along every ledge. Imatra in Winter by Akseli Gallen-Kallela records the famous Finnish rapids at their coldest and most violent. The current reads as deep bottle green, edged with churned white foam where the gorge narrows. Snow lies heaped along both shores, tinted grey blue under an overcast sky, and frozen spray builds into rounded glassy bulges on the boulders. Short loaded brushstrokes carry the surge. A study lined in dark timber or an entryway of raw stone suits the cold palette; the roaring water supplies all the drama a quiet room lacks.

Yes. It ships fully assembled in an oak or ash wood frame with shatterproof plexiglass glazing, and hanging hardware already fitted to the back.

Clean the glazing with a soft, lint-free cloth; apply any cleaner to the cloth, never directly to the piece.

As a guide, a piece hung above furniture should span roughly two-thirds of that furniture width. If you are between two sizes, the larger option almost always reads better on the wall than expected.
