House with Fence

A low whitewashed house sits behind a rough timber fence, its roofline pressed against a pale sky. Romanian painter Stefan Luchian built the scene from quick, loaded strokes of oil, letting paint sit thick where sunlight strikes the wall. The fence posts lean at slightly different angles, each one laid in with a single confident drag of the brush. Warm sienna and dusty rose run across the facade, while greens and violet shadow pool at the base. A gate, half open, breaks the rhythm of the palings and pulls the eye toward the doorway. Suited to a hallway or a quiet reading corner where its rustic calm can settle into the room.
