Himalayas (study)

Peaks climb in stacked bands of cobalt toward a sky still holding the last cold light. This Himalayas study from Nicholas Roerich reduces the range to its essential geometry: ridge, shadow, ridge again. The paint sits in thin, confident layers, tempra-thin where snow catches a pale rose glow and deeper ultramarine where valleys fall away. Little detail survives at this scale; distance does the work, each slope dissolving into the next until the summit reads as a single luminous shape. The brushwork is quick, a record of an eye working fast at altitude. A study this austere belongs in a quiet corner: a reading nook, a hallway where morning light can meet those blues.
