Himalayas

Snowfields climb into a sky of deep cobalt in Himalayas, the mountain vision of Nicholas Roerich, where each ridge catches the last cold light of evening. Broad faces of ice fill the lower plane, crevasses pooled with violet shadow while the summits hold a dry ivory tone. The tempera sits matte and chalky, dragged in short strokes, so the rock reads carved rather than soft. Above everything, one unbroken field of blue. It belongs in a quiet study or a hallway that faces north, somewhere the cold palette can carry across the room without competition.
