About this work

Himalayas

Blue mountain ridges press upward into cold air. Nicholas Roerich titled the scene simply Himalayas, and the name says all the peaks need saying. Nothing else enters the frame. Tempera gives the slopes their chalky, moonlit surface. Pigment sits dry on the ground, so snow reads as paint itself, laid in broad sweeping bands rather than fine detail. The blues deepen toward violet in the hollows, then sharpen to an icy pale edge along every crest. Above the tallest summit the sky thins almost to white, a void the mountains seem to be climbing into. A study, a quiet hallway, a reading corner facing north: any room with soft light lets these peaks do their slow work.

Usually not, but international orders can occasionally be subject to local import fees set by your country. Anything like that is set by customs, not by us.
