Himalayas

Blue mountains rise in tiers toward a pale sky, the subject of Himalayas by Nicholas Roerich. Far below, a narrow valley floor holds a thread of snow and silence. Cool cobalt dominates every ridge, deepening toward indigo in the shadowed folds where the slopes descend. Higher up, the peaks catch a thin wash of white, applied in broad, confident strokes over the darker ground. The air itself reads as pigment, a translucent band of violet hovering between the summits and the viewer. A quiet presence for a study or reading room, where mountain air and contemplative blue can settle over the day.
