Snow ridges stretch in long cold bands across the frame, the uppermost summits catching a pale rose light before the sun clears the horizon. This Nicholas Roerich vision of the Himalayas at morning holds the quiet minutes when night still pools in the valleys. Below, the mountains sit in planes of cobalt and violet, each ridge painted as a clean hard edge against the next. Ice white crowns carry the warmth; the deep slopes refuse it.
