Házak

House fronts crowd together in tilted blocks, windows punched dark against pale plaster. Házak by Scheiber Hugó turns an ordinary row of dwellings into an architecture of leaning planes. Burnt orange and umber fill the facades, edged in black contour lines that harden every plane. Roofs pitch at odd angles, chimneys jut, and the perspective tilts as if seen from a moving tram. Paint sits in slabs, the Hungarian modernist manner at its most direct. A stairwell, study, or hallway gains a focal point with genuine city energy here; the skewed geometry rewards a second and third look from anyone passing by.
